Dr. Weiping Huang CEO Dr. Huang provides the vision, business strategies, and product focus for the company. He is also responsible for initiating and forging relationships with existing and potential investors, strategic business partners, and key customers. In addition to his position with Apollo, Dr. Huang is a full professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McMaster University, Canada. He has also held positions at academic and industrial institutions in USA, Canada, Japan and China. He was the founding president of Apollo Photonics Inc. He founded Ligent Photonics Inc. (USA) and Hisense Optoelectronics Technologies Inc. (China) for manufacturing of optical transceivers.
Dr. Huang is internationally known for his contributions and expertise in design, modeling and simulation of photonic devices and ICs. He brings nearly two decades of scientific and business expertise and experience to his role at the organization. Dr. Huang has authored and co-authored more than 200 journal and conference papers and holds 7 U.S. patents in the area of photonics. He earned his doctorate degree in electrical engineering from MIT.
Dr. Chenglin Xu Cheif EngineerDr. Xu provides leadership for the development of commercial software products. He is responsible for the development and management of mission-critical solvers. He also provides guidance for the software development with a strong linkage to the marketplace and the evolving technologies. Prior to his role with the company, he worked at JDS as a design engineer. Dr. Xu was one of the three founders for Apollo Photonics Inc. and was instrumental for the development of the company's first waveguide simulation software. As the Vice President, he is also assisting Dr. Huang in implementing the company's strategic business objectives.
A leading international expert in the modeling and simulation of photonic devices and systems, Dr. Xu has made significant contributions to the development of enabling technologies for photonic CAD. He has published more than 50 journal and conference papers. Dr. Xu received his doctorate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
Dr. Alireza Torabian Director of Product Marketing & Business DevelopmentsDr. Torobian is responsible for the management of business operations, marketing, worldwide sales, and technical support at Apollo. His entrepreneurial spirit and strategic direction coupled with his comprehensive technical background have played a key role in high-level partnerships and product development direction.
Dr. Torabian has more than 15 years of experience in numerical analysis and designing microwave and RF integrated circuits. Before joining Apollo, Dr. Torabian was involved in various projects at SPAR, ComDev, and Nortel in array antenna design, microwave integrated circuits, and RFIC. He received his Ph.D degree in electrical engineering from University of Waterloo, Canada. He has published more than 25 conference and journal papers.
